Working towards a degree may be a challenge, but it is also worthwhile. At IU, the university guarantee all-round personal support throughout your studies. Kenznow student advisory will walk you through the application and enrolment process. During your studies, you will not only have our student office take care of all of your administrative needs, but skilled and experienced tutors will also oversee your academic development.

And of course, the IT Helpdesk will make sure universities virtual campus,”mycampus”, runs smoothly for you. Anything you need as a student at IU is only a phone call or email away.

We have already taken your time restrictions into account during the conception of online our study programmes. You can divide your studying time as individually as your everyday life requires. If you are especially restricted on time, you can also opt to study part-time.

On Campus

Timetables are handed out every semester to students upon arrival on campus, this way you can plan your other activities. If you study on campus, you are a full-time student.

Online:

The amount of time you spend studying each week depends on multiple factors such as your chosen study programme and time model, your weekly schedule and your strengths and weaknesses. If you are having difficulties finding the time to study, please let us know so that we can find the best solution for you.

Though the university is based in Germany, the language of instruction of all of the degrees is English. So you do not need to know German to study with IU! If you are on campus, you are sure to learn German along the way and you will be offered German lessons if needed.

Since 1998, The University has supported thousands of students of various backgrounds and age groups in developing themselves both personally and professionally. The University campuses and their online environment are home to a community of around 70,000 students from all kinds of backgrounds, career levels, nationalities, and experiences.

Regardless of time model, IU online students can exceed the standard period of study by 12 months, free of charge.

Twice a year, Universities hold graduation ceremonies on their campuses in Germany. Even online students are welcome to participate at their own expense. If you do not wish to attend, University will send you the degree certificate by post, free of charge.

University has two campuses in Germany, one in Bad Honnef and one in Berlin, the German capital city.

Good news! University will be able to help you mix & match semesters studying online and on campus during your studies. If you choose a degree programme that is available both online and on campus, you’re able to completely tailor your degree according to what you need.

If you want to start online, studying remotely, and then come to campus for the next semester, you can do that with IU. And, of course, vice versa: If you start on campus but need to travel home for a later semester, University can help you make that happen.

There are 2 intakes per year: March/April and September/October. However, IU has a rolling admissions so you can apply at any time.

Online:

The University guarantees IU online students maximum flexibility so you can choose your own starting date in your application. On that day, the university will send you the access data you need to begin.

The degree programs are specially designed for working professionals like yourself and are taught by University Professors. Most of the degree programs are case study based with stress on practical learning.

Scholarships depend on overall profile of a candidate. The candidate's work experience and academic history is duly considered. The decision of the University is final in these matters.

At IU, the university emphasise maximum flexibility, modern and interactive study methods and comprehensive care. You can start your programme at any time and study when and wherever you want. Students do not have to attend classes in person and can even choose their own exam dates. As long as you have a device (laptop/desktop/tablet/smartphone etc.) with a stable internet connection, you will have access to virtual campus, “mycampus”, where you will find everything you need.

You only need a reasonably up-to-date PC (desktop or laptop) with a stable internet connection. Other internet-capable devices such as a tablet or smartphone can also assist you in your studies.

Yes, once you're registered as a student you will also receive access to online library, where you can search for an unlimited amount of journal articles and literature that can be downloaded in an e-book format.

Interactivity is a top priority for IU. This means that you will have numerous online learning materials at your disposal. The content of each course can vary to include video tutorials, podcasts, interactive PDFs, presentations, or e-books from online library.

Further, IU stress the practical relevance of teaching material by using case studies and reports from everyday work life. the University also attach great importance to intensive exam preparation (e.g. through non-graded self-test).

Yes, you can exchange ideas with other students via virtual campus.

Teaching is completely online. Course material and prerecorded lectures are uploaded on portal for students access. For any queries/doubts all students have an access to their advisor through online forums.

You will need a system with an internet connection.

If you study online, once you meet the exam requirements of a given course (e.g. passing non-graded self-tests), you can register for an exam at any time. Appointments are available 24/7, 365 days a year.

The duration is determined by the ECTS points earned through the course:

- A 5 ECTS course means the exam is 90 minutes long.

- A 10 ECTS course means the exam is 180 minutes long.

The structure of the final exam depends on the course type and reflects the content of the course. In standard courses, the exam usually consists of approx. 50% open/ semi-open questions and 50% closed questions (e.g. multiple-choice, yes-no, matching questions). Other courses may require a different exam type such as case study, project-specific presentation, written assignment etc.

The results will be published three to six weeks (max.) after the examination date.

You have three attempts, in other words, an exam can be repeated twice.
